Hi everyone! I’m Gigi, Founder of Baby Brain. Much of my background has been in music, from music education to performing in orchestras both local and foreign. It was 10 years ago working at an early childhood education college when an act of providence spurred me to change fields and pursue my teaching diploma in early childhood education. Since then I never looked back.
As a pre-school teacher, I found that children learn best when they are engaged, when their lessons are relevant and meaningful, when they include hands-on, active involvement in the curriculum and when the learning is challenging and fun.
Hence my teaching philosophy focuses on the wellbeing of children as they develop their sense of self and confidence in engaging with the world and people around them.
I firmly believe that children are unique individuals. When we listen and response to their needs and wants, learning will naturally begin to happen.
Miss Phyllis, Teacher
BSc (Hons) Psychology with Child Studies Lincoln UK, Qualified Teacher HK (Nursery to Secondary)
Hello, I'm Phyllis. I graduated from University of Lincoln, UK with an Honours degree in Psychology and Child Studies.
After moving to Hong Kong, I started my teaching at a local Kindergarten / Nursery as a NET teacher. I particularly enjoyed teaching singing and observing children’s behaviour. As I strongly believe that by understanding the needs of the child, I can improve both my teaching and lesson planning to include more meaningful experiences for them.
After all these years of teaching, I have learnt that every child is unique as individuals. Hence I'm excited to share these learnings, for children to learn through exploration, play and close guidance at Baby Brain.
